Design: Creating Art with Point

is is the first of 10 exercises from Auburn professor Fereshteh Rostampour focusing on design aesthetics. The exercise involves some basic research, the use of a specific artistic technique and incorporation of fine motor skills as students recreate painting using different sized dots. Minimal supplies are needed. Students are encouraged to select a challenging work of art and must focus on accuracy and execution.

    Fereshteh Rostampour

    Fereshteh Rostampour is an Associate Professor of set & lighting design in the department of theatre at Auburn University. She studied Marionette, Painting, Ballet, Architecture, and Scenography. She has been teaching set & lighting design, interior design, architecture, and computer 3D lighting & rendering for the past seventeen years. She holds an MFA degree in set and lighting design from The Ohio State University. Fereshteh worked as a Free-lance Scenographer for numerous plays, dance, opera, and film internationally. Her work was chosen as one of the six primary performance designs for the National Exhibit at Prague Quadrennial 2015. Fereshteh was one of the top three finalists in the World Stage Design (WSD) 2013 competition in Cardiff, Wales & top five in WSD 2009 in Seoul, Korea.
